Response to our regular talks is invariably positive but not always just in the direction anticipated. This is a slide from near the end of the excellent presentation from Dr Clive Nuttman on Monkton Nature Reserve. After a lively and entertaining journey through the history and special environmental significance of the place, Clive mentioned fundraising through their second-hand bookshop. Such was the surprise that I promised to pass on information to all of you.

Monkton Reserve is open all year round and parking plus entrance to the welcome building with the bookshop is free – we do recommend you pay to walk round the reserve itself but that is voluntary! They take books by the boot load if you are planning a clear out and typically sell them for 50p or £1 if you cannot resist adding to your library.
