SUMMARY:Walk - Stodmarsh National Nature Reserve (NNR)
DESCRIPTION:Sunday 14th May. Meet in the reserve car park (CT3 4BB) at 11.00am. Stodmarsh National Nature Reserve (NNR)\, is located just outside Canterbury between Stodmarsh Village and Grove Ferry Picnic Site and is one of the best places in the country to enjoy the outdoors and experience spectacular wildlife. It is owned by Natural England and managed for wildlife and visitors. The nature trails across the Reserve will help you get the most from your visit and take you past wildlife hotspots. You could bring a pair of binoculars to get a close-up view of the wildfowl from the bird hides. Dogs are welcome in most areas of the reserve if they are on a lead. \nThe reserve car park is east of Stodmarsh village\, located along with the turn off between the Red Lion pub and the church (CT3 4BB). Voluntary car parking charges can be paid in advance or on the day using the RingGo app. \nThe walk will take approximately 2 hours and can be wet in places if it has rained recently\, so appropriate foot ware is recommended. To book at place click the link Stodmarsh Nature Reserve \nWe are asking for a booking fee of £5\, which will go toward our sustaining our current projects.  \nIf you wish\, you can book lunch after the walk (approximately 1.00pm) at the Grove Ferry Inn. (Grove Ferry Road\, Canterbury\, CT3 4BP). www.groveferryinn.co.uk. Call 01227 860302 or email info@groveferryinn.co.uk \n

SUMMARY:A guided wildlife and natural history walk at Pegwell Bay
DESCRIPTION:A guided wildlife and natural history walk at Pegwell Bay\, and find out about volunteering with Kent Wildlife Trust to help preserve our local National Nature Reserve\n\nLast July we were delighted to host a talk by a Protected Area Warden on the extraordinary variety of wildlife and the work that goes on to support the natural gem that is at Pegwell Bay. We now invite members and friends to join a free guided walk to explore the fascinating natural history of the area and see some of the many rare migratory birds that spend their winter resting and feeding along our coastline. This is a great opportunity to find out more about how they manage the diverse array of habitats at this internationally important site and what you can do to help protect our most vulnerable species including our local seal colony.  Sue Gyde will be the Ramsgate Society contact and the walk will be led by the Pegwell Bay Wardens and Bird Wise East Kent.We will meet by the Salty Seal Café\, KCC Pegwell Country Park Car Park. A256 Sandwich Rd\, Cliffsend\, Ramsgate CT12 5JB (formerly the Walkers Rest Café). \nParking is available there\, but there is a charge. \n\nThere are 17 places available\, it is free but click here to reserve a place     https://bit.ly/PegwellBay\n\n\nIf you would like to learn about volunteering opportunities at the site please click: \nWilder Coast Volunteer – Sandwich & Pegwell Bay Area | Kent Wildlife Trust
