SUMMARY:Advent Doors 'Push the Boat Out'
DESCRIPTION:Come and support the 8th December Advent Door hosted by The Ramsgate Society outside the Maritime Museum\, which will be lit up for everyone to enjoy!  Listen to salty sea stories of the high seas and and a mix of sea shanties and laments.  Sample some festive ship’s biscuits and get merry with a tot of sailors’ grog – everyone guaranteed to have a great time as well as supporting a local charity through cash donations on the evening. \nAs a further incentive\, December 8th is also the late-night shopping evening for Ramsgate’s independent shops so why not combine retail therapy with our ‘Push the Boat Out’ event? DESCRIPTION:Many members have been angered by untreated sewage being expelled into the sea nearby. If that includes you\, we hope you will be interested to attend an event on Monday 12th December 2022 at the Comfort Inn\, Victoria Parade\, Ramsgate\, CT11 8DT from 6pm to 8pm. \nIt will be a mix of explanations\, plans and a rare chance to question and perhaps challenge. \nThey describe the event as an ‘information evening’ and this is what their publicity says you can expect: \n“This will be a great opportunity to understand the solution\, discuss with some members of the Southern Water Task Force Team\, meet our contractors supporting the programme delivery\, and input your local knowledge of the area into the plans. \nActivities at the “Information Evening” event will include\, \n\nIntroduction to the Task force and introduction to our ongoing interventions.\nUpdate on Beach Buoy and Water Quality.\nOpportunity to join the team from Groundwork to provide us with knowledge of Margate to help improve the development of schemes.\nView work of Rescue2\, who are completing our connectivity surveys on rainwater going to a combined or foul sewer.\nQuestion time for residents to ask any questions to the Southern Water Team.”\n\nYou can also read more about their approach to dealing with storm overflows here.
