SUMMARY:Beach Roamer Walk from the Clock House at Ramsgate along the Thanet Coastal Path to Botany Bay
DESCRIPTION:Join us on a beach roamer walk from the Clock House at Ramsgate along the Thanet Coastal Path to Botany Bay on Thursday 23rd February.  We will meet at 11.00am outside the Clock House\, the walk takes you past quaint beach huts\, and secluded sandy bays taking in unbeatable views across the English Channel. We will walk along the coast to Dumpton Bay\, Louisa Bay\, Viking Bay and onto Stone Bay\, from which there are steps up to a short stretch along the road to Joss Bay\, Kingsgate Bay and then on to Botany Bay. The walk is approximately 4.4 miles and will take about 2 hours. At Botany Bay you can stop for lunch at the Botany Bay Hotel\, you can book a table on their website: https://www.botanybayhotel.co.uk Apart from the steps at Stone Bay the walk is mainly flat\, but if walking back is not for you then you can walk up Percy Avenue from Botany Bay to George Hill Road and catch the Loop back to Ramsgate. \n\n\nWe are asking for a booking fee of £5\, which will go toward our sustaining our current projects. Bookings for the walk will be available from 14.02.23. To book at place click the link Walk to Botany Bay

SUMMARY:Meeting about Continuing Sewage Releases on our Coast
DESCRIPTION:The Ramsgate Society is non party political but we note an upcoming free public event arranged by The Green Party on the subject of pollution from sewage releases. \nSpeakers will be Green Party peer Jenny Jones (former archaeologist and member of the London Assembly 2000-2016) and Feargal Sharkey (former Undertones singer and now an active campaigner against pollution of our rivers and coastline). \nSadly we understand that this was fully booked within 24hours of announcement but you might want to join the waiting list for returns and\, we understand\, there is a possibility of moving to a larger venue. Eventbrite link for free tickets should they become available: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/thanet-greens-public-meeting-with-feargal-sharkey-jenny-jones-tickets-514756730237
