May Talk: We Are Ramsgate – Co-designing Our Future with the Pride in Place Programme

21 May @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
£3

Our lead speaker for this event will be Sarah Merrington, the Neighbourhood Regeneration Manager at Thanet District Council. As you may know, Ramsgate has been selected by the government to receive up to £20 million in funding and support over the next decade. Originally titled ‘Plan for Neighbourhoods’, this investment is now part of the national Pride in Place Programme. Sarah will be co-presenting alongside John Walker and other members of the Ramsgate Neighbourhood Board. Together, they are championing community-driven efforts to shape and deliver Ramsgate’s regeneration vision.

This is a very special opportunity to not just be informed but to also play a part in deciding where the £20 million will be allocated!

The philosophy behind Pride in Place is for the community to decide on how funds will be distributed so the format for the meeting will be more interactive than our usual talks. As well as describing the objectives of the programme you will have the opportunity to become involved with the new ‘Pride in Place’ regeneration programme. You will be invited to engage in paired conversations with the person sitting next to you about the town’s five core priorities: Open It Up, Clean It Up, Light It Up, Join It Up, and Raise It Up. You will also  have the opportunity to use feedback postcards to share your thoughts.

Sarah and team will discuss early plans for the fund’s next steps, including how the Board is developing a new investment framework focused on smart, long-term investments. Crucially, they will highlight how community co-design will be central to bringing these projects to life from the ground up, and how you can stay involved as the details of the fund are finalised.
