Four of the five new silhouettes photographed by John Walker

The Ramsgate Society has helped to fund a permanent display to commemorate the support given to the soldiers rescued from the beaches of Dunkirk during Operation Dynamo.

We joined together with Ramsgate Town Council, Ramsgate Tunnels, Kevin Finn and the Ramsgate branch of the Royal Navy Association to fund five new figures. These will help tell Ramsgate’s wider Operation Dynamo story — from RNLI lifeboatmen and Royal Navy crews, to civilian skippers, evacuees and WVS volunteers who offered food, warmth and comfort to those arriving on our shores.
