The Ramsgate Society together with Ramsgate Town Council is proud to announce the Community Champion Awards 2024, an event dedicated to recognising and celebrating the outstanding contributions of individuals and groups within our community. These awards highlight the remarkable efforts in various fields that enhance the quality of life and foster a sense of togetherness in Ramsgate. Nominations are open for several categories, including Arts and Culture, Community, Education, Heritage and Environment, Health and Well-being, and the prestigious Community Champion Award for Lifetime Achievement.
We invite you to nominate deserving individuals or groups who have made significant impacts through their dedication and service. Each category is designed to honor different facets of community involvement, from promoting arts and culture to improving education, revitalizing heritage and the environment, enhancing health and well-being, and recognizing lifelong commitment to community service.
Nominations can be submitted by completing the nomination form, providing detailed information about the nominee and the proposer. Your thoughtful recommendations will help us acknowledge those who have gone above and beyond in their efforts to make Ramsgate a better place for all.

Description of Community Champion Awards Categories
There are six categories for our Community Champion Awards:
Arts and Culture
Enhancing and increasing participation in arts, including music and creative leisure activities.
Community
Achieving outstanding results by initiating, organising and/or delivering a community programme or event which has benefitted the town or a community.
Education
Improving and enhancing development opportunities for children and young people.
Heritage and Environment
Improving or revitalising the environment, culture and heritage.
Health and Well-being
Providing services that enhance the health and well-being of people in the town. For example, developing sport and leisure opportunities or enhancing and increasing participation in physical sport, leisure activity or recreational pursuits.
NOTE: This award is intended for those involved in ‘running’ the sport/leisure activity, e.g., coaching/administration, etc as opposed to those who participate in these activities.
Lifetime Community Champion Award
A special achievement award celebrating an individual or individuals for their outstanding contribution and dedication to Ramsgate over their lifetime or significant period. This person will have gone above and beyond, over many years, demonstrating a long-term voluntary commitment to the town and the wider community.
In special circumstances, the Society may make a lifetime award to a person who lives outside the town’s boundaries, providing the deserving voluntary service concerned has been wholly or predominantly carried out for the benefit of Ramsgate and its people.
