Our first talk of 2022 will be the Society’s Heritage Champion, Brian Daubney, taking us back to explore the ancient history of our area in his own inimitable and multi-talented style.

Our talk on March 18th brings Catriona Blaker to the RTYC to present on The History of Ellington Park – drawing on her research for her recent booklet to raise funds for the Friends of Ellington Park.

To thank our 50 ‘tree adopters’ we are holding a talk on 1st May 2022 at the Churchill Tavern, 19-21 Paragon, Ramsgate CT11 9JX. The talk and presentation will celebrate the folklore of trees and the value they add to our life and environment. Refreshments available from the bar.

Victorian Ramsgate was full of places of chiefly Christian worship, covering every conceivable confession and denomination. Did this lead to brotherly love and concord? Not at all! In this Ramsgate Society talk at the RTYC, Stephen Davies looks at some of the most unChristian battles which raged in the town.

This is not our event but we know many of you will be interested to hear Dr Michael Bintley give this talk at 7pm on June 2nd at the Visitor Centre, St Augustine’s Church.
